There are some people who are experiencing RSVP crash on vista. The crash either happens during the splash screen or shortly after the main window comes up. It's been rather difficult to collect information about this, but due to the help of several volunteers we are making progress.

There is a suite of vista tests which are posted on our downloads page. Several people have run them and using the information they gave to me I have released a version of RSVP to help address this issue. It may not solve all the problems, but it should get a little further and also collect more information. Look for this new version of RSVP labeled vista/connector.exe in the experimental section of our downloads page. Please download it, give it a shot, and post your results here. Also, I do enjoy error reports via email or MSN.

Some people are having issues where when trying to log in to RSVP they get a windows error stating that Connector.exe has encountered problems and must be closed. Essentially, it is crashing. It's been difficult to collect information on this since I'm unable to re-create the issue.

I however know which version it started in and I have been systematically undoing the changes that were made which should eventually reveal the cause of the crash. As for now there is a version of RSVP labeled vista/connector.exe in the experimental section of our downloads page. Please download it, give it a shot, and post your results here.

FIXED! File not found when re-checking

A minor bug in which RSVP tries to check for files which were previously found to be extra. If a file was found to be an extra file and is deleted or moved, re-checking your files rarely results in this minor error that the moved files cannot be found. A fix is on the way, but until then re-starting your RSVP client after fixing the errors will allow the next scan to continue unhindered.

FIXED! Nothing available for clan

There is an issue where some people start RSVP and are unable to log in as anything. The message they get back is the generic "nothing available for clan" sometimes associated with a "couldn't contact server x". There doesn't seem to be a common connection between the computers experiencing this, however I have a good idea why this is happening. There is a test client which you may download from the experimental section of our downloads page. If you're having this trouble, visit http://www.rsvpfirst.com/downloads and try out the experimental test client. Please let me know your results.
