General
What is RSVP? Top of page
The Really Simple Verification Program is an anti-cheat system that gives control to the server's admin about what is or isn't allowed to be used inside your game. Server admins can allow any patch or custom modification they wish. Anything not explicitly allowed by the server admin will flag your game as failing validation.

RSVP Client
What is the client for? Top of page
RSVP client compares your game files to what is defined in validation files provided by your clan's admin.
What does the client do? Top of page
1. Compares your game files to what is defined in the validation files provided by your clan's admin.
2. Connects to the rsvp server for your clan
3. Optionally starts your game
4. Monitors your game for any unacceptable changes during play
How does the client work? Top of page
We treat everything as being invalid until it is checked and matches what is defined in validation files provided by your clan's admin. The validation files contain definitions of only what is acceptable. We don't bother tracking new cheats and hacks because anything other than what your clan's admin specifies as legal will fail the validation process. RSVP has the ability to detect extra, missing, or corrupt/modified files, as well as changes in the games directory during the validation process and game play.
How do I use the client? Top of page
Please note that the following instructions are available in the readme.pdf file included in the installation, as well as in the help menu of the RSVP client.
1. Make all modifications to you game before attempting to validate. Here is a small list of items to do before validating:
A) Adjust video options (brightness, resolution, details, colors, etc.)
B) Adjust audio options (volumes, quality, speaker setup, etc.)
C) Adjust all keyboard/mouse bindings (walk, shoot, crouch, etc.)
2. Start the RSVP client.
3. Select the File menu and click on preferences. Double check the settings with what your server admin requires.
4. In the Games menu select "Check all Files" for the game you wish to play.
5. After a few seconds, RSVP client will show you a drop down list containing admin approved validation files. These are different for each server. Pick the one that best fits your setup. If in doubt, ask the server's admin.
6. RSVP client will now attempt to validate your game. This typically takes about 3 minutes.
7. If your game fails validation the reasons why will be displayed. Attempting to join a server protected by RSVP can result in being kicked. You now have three options.
A) Manually fix the errors (delete extra items, remove customizations, etc.).
B) Auto fix the errors (currently deletes extra items. Additional functionality is alpha quality).
C) Go play somewhere else. (and hope they aren't using RSVP)
8. If your game passes validation, your game will then start up and you can connect to the server as you normally would. Have fun competing on a cheat free playing field.
I have a problem with the client. What do I do? Top of page
Consult the client troubleshooting pdf included in the in the installation.
RSVP Server
What is the server for? Top of page
RSVP server tracks users and if they have validated or not.
What does the server do? Top of page
1. Listens for validated rsvp clients.
2. Tracks the validated rsvp clients.
3. Sends messages to the game server about those who haven't validated, and optionally kicks them as well.
How does the server work? Top of page

How do I use the server? Top of page
1. Start the server software
2. Use RSVP admin to configure the settings.
RSVP Admin
What is the admin for? Top of page
RSVP admin allows you to configure rsvp server and monitor your game servers from anywhere in the world! RSVP admin also allows you to broadcast messages into the game (say) and kick or ban people. There's no need to run a separate autokick or administration program
What does the admin do? Top of page
1. Configures RSVP server.
2. Monitors current players
3. Issue requests for saying, kicking, or banning players to RSVP server.
How does the admin work? Top of page
RSVP admin has three users, an admin, a validator, and a super admin. The admin can control options specific for their games. The validator can add/remove/update customizations to be allowed. The super admin can do everything the others can as well as global RSVP server options.
How do I use the admin? Top of page
1. Enter the ip address of the rsvp server you are going to configure.
2. Enter in your password for either the admin, validator, or super admin.

We've been working on some bug fixes for the admin and client programs. Most of the work is on the admin program as we are awaiting feedback (and error reports) about RSVP client from our Vista users. There should be a release for the admin program by the weekend. Also, there has been interest in the Spanish Spearhead which I'm hoping to have supported by next weekend.
